PSG seem to be cruising to yet another Ligue 1 title and will be looking to extend their lead when they take on struggling Strasbourg in their next league game. The French giants, hosting this game, have 41 points, 30 ahead of their visitors ahead of this tie. From a possible 45 points in Ligue 1 this season, PSG have dropped just four and they are still unbeaten in the league. They haven’t lost a Ligue 1 game in 30 outings. In their last game before heading to the World Cup, PSG blanked Auxerre 5-0 for their seventh straight win. In Ligue 1 action, they have five straight wins and nine wins in the last 10 games. They definitely head into this clash eyeing three points, and it will be an upset if they don’t, especially after scoring two or more in each of the last four, and keeping three clean sheets in the last five league games. They also have five straight wins at home and while a number of players are expected to miss this game, the hosts will still be strong. Lionel Messi will have extended rest after winning the World Cup with Argentina, but Kylian Mbappe is back and will be in contention. Danilo Pereira, Nuno Mendes and Presnel Kimpembe are all out with injury but Achraf Hakimi is back after his World Cup experience e with Morocco.

Strasbourg, on their part, are in serious crisis, having managed just one win in 15 matches in Ligue 1 this season. They face a side with 12 more wins than them and are expecting to collect three points that would potentially get them off the relegation zone. Their only win this season was against Angers, the team below them in the league standings, and in their only friendly match during the World Cup window ended in a 1-0 loss to Feyenoord. Strasbourg are winless in the last five Ligue 1 matches and in four of them, they’ve conceded two or more goals. They’ve scored more than a goal in three of their last four matches though, and they will want to carry this run going into this game. However, having conceded 11 in the last five away league matches, they will first hope they can tighten things at the back. The visitors will miss the services of defender Alex Djiku who is caught up in allegations of sports betting. Colin Dagba and Nordine Kandil are also out of this game with injuries.
