PSG vs Real Madrid Prediction & Betting Tips - Champions League
by Steve Ashfield | in Champions League Predictions
French giants PSG warmed up for their Champions League clash at home to Real Madrid with a slim win over Rennes in the French Ligue 1. They will welcome Real to Paris for one of the most anticipated matches in the Round of 16 of the Champions League, the two giants seeking first leg advantage. For PSG, it has been a good campaign so far, save for their elimination from the French Cup on post match penalties by Nice. In the last 14 matches across all competitions, PSG are unbeaten inside 90 minutes. They go to this game having conceded just one goal in their last five matches but they’ve scored two or more in three of the five. The last time PSG suffered a loss, it was in the Champions League, against Manchester City but they have three straight wins at home in the Champions League, and have scored two or more goals in each one of these three matches.
Real Madrid are really missing Karim Benzema; the French forward limped off the La Liga game against Elche with a hamstring injury and things haven’t been the same for Real. In the three matches that have followed, Real have managed just one goal, and have lost once. In 28 matches this season, Benzema has scored 24 goals and it is little wonder Real are struggling in his absence. They are coming from a 0-0 draw with Villarreal and their lead in La Liga has now been trimmed to just four points. The Spanish giants now have just two wins in their last five matches and one of the wins was in extra time, against Elche. They only have three clean sheets in their last 11 matches and away from home they’ve failed to score in their last two matches.

Our PSG vs Real Madrid Prediction
Real Madrid have lost some of their momentum in recent matches and they are faced with one of their biggest matches of the season yet they will be without their talisman, Karim Benzema. They go to this game in shaky shape and meet a very solid PSG side, which has done especially well at home. PSG have four wins in their last five matches, and have managed four clean sheets too in four of the last five matches. Sticking with recent form, we will back PSG to win here.
