PSG and Nice will put to the side their Ligue 1 ambitions as they meet in the French Cup quarterfinal on Wednesday. The last of four quarterfinals will be hosted by PSG at the Parc des Princes. Both sides haven't had things going their way in Ligue 1 recently. PSG’s only win in the last four matches was in the Champions League. The other three were all in the league and they ended in draws. While they’ve been good in attack, the French heavyweights have had it tough keeping clean sheets in their recent matches. In the last 10 matches, PSG have managed just three clean sheets. Ahead of this game, they drew 2-2 with Reims, coming from behind to lead before being pegged back. Les Parisiens have a mission in this game, after losing 3-2 to Nice in their first meeting this season. Apart from seeking revenge, PSG will seek a home win after drawing their last two home matches. Nice was the last team to beat them at home, in their league game in September. They’ve since gone unbeaten at home in 16 matches.

Nice, just like their hosts, are also hoping to bounce back here. Theirs is however a much dire situation, having failed to win in their last five matches. Nice have actually lost four times in their last five matches. It was worse for them as they suffered a home defeat to Montpellier in their last outing. That was the third time they failed to beat a side in the bottom half of the league. As they struggle to stay in the European slots, the French Cup is a welcome distraction. Three wins only in their last 10 matches is however not the best run to take into this game. Despite their recent run, Nice will have a ray of hope in their head-to-head record against PSG. In the last five matches against PSG, they won three. One of them, in 2022, was on post-match penalties in the French Cup.
