PSG can go top of Ligue 1 if beating Montpellier on Friday. They are second in the table (a point behind Nice) with their visitors in 11th place. The Parisians didn't get off this new season off to a great start. Of their first eight league games, only three were won and they lost at home to Nice. There was also that terrible 4-1 away defeat at Newcastle United in the Champions League. Could the unrest during the summer have been the cause? The loss at Newcastle was a turning point for The Red-and-Blues and since then they have won four games in a row. Three goals have been scored in each of those wins and they now have a chance to go top of Ligue 1. Kylian Mbappe's future at the club remains uncertain but he's found his scoring form with four goals in his last three games. Two were scored in last weekend's win at Brest, including the 89th minute winner. PSG have won three of their five home league games this season with four goals conceded.

Montpellier begin the weekend ten points behind PSG but only four adrift of the final European qualifying position and with a game in hand. They have won two of their last three league games with victories at Lorient and home to Toulouse but those of those opponents are struggling at present. Montpellier have won two of their five away league games this season, losing the same number and drawing once. Only one of the last four on the road have been won and they have some painful memories of away league games against PSG. Their last seven visits have all been lost with 27 goals conceded. We go for PSG to get another win this Friday and lead at both half and full time.
