PSG vs Lorient Prediction & Betting Tips - Ligue 1

The international break is over and PSG will be back to action, hoping for better times after really struggling in their recent matches. They will be at home to take on Lorient on Match Day 30 of the Ligue 1. Heading into this game, PSG have 65 points at the league summit while Lorient are 16th with 28 points. In their last match before the international break, PSG suffered a 3-0 loss to Monaco; their third loss in five matches and heaviest this season. That result attracted criticism at the expensively assembled squad, who now have just the league title to chase. With a 12-point lead in the league, they are definitely on their way to another title and the fans expected more from the team this season. Their home form should offer some sort of assurance, having gone unbeaten in 17 league matches at Parc des Princes. In the last five home league matches they have four clean sheets and have scored two or more in four of the five. In four of these five home matches, they’ve scored in both halves.

Three clean sheets in the last four matches presents a great improvement for Lorient but going into this game they will need more to keep that run going. The visitors head into this game sitting just a point above the relegation playoff spot and this is thanks to their recent performances, where they’ve won two of their last four and only lost once in that run. They’ve however failed to score in two of their last five matches. In the last 23 matches, Lorient have managed just three wins and though they are unbeaten in their last three matches, they will need something special to stop PSG  at the Parc des Princes. They are however unbeaten in the last two matches against the Ligue 1 giants. In their last meeting, these two drew 1-1, PSG needed a stoppage time goal from Mauro Icardi to claim a point and in the earlier meeting they beat PSG 3-2.
