PSG vs Lens Prediction & Betting Tips - Ligue 1

It hasn't been a good run for PSG in recent matches and as they prepare to host Lens in Ligue 1, a top target will be to kill off the game as early as possible and rest key players for tougher upcoming games. PSG are currently second in the Ligue 1 standings with 72 points, one below league leaders Lille, while fifth place Lens have 56 points. PSG are coming from a 2-1 loss to Manchester City at home in the Champions League. The loss marked yet another low point for PSG at home, having won just three of their last nine matches there across all competitions. Five of the nine have ended in losses and it hasn't been better in Ligue 1 as well, with three of the last four home matches ending in losses. Mauricio Pochettino’s side has three straight wins in the league though. While earlier PSG were grappling with injuries, isolation and suspensions to key players, they have almost all available now but have continued struggling, especially in defence. The French giants have managed just one clean sheet in their last nine matches, and in Ligue 1 they’ve conceded two in three of the last six. They have conceded in each of the last six league matches and failed to score in one.

By PSG’s standards, this has been a bad season. At this point in the previous campaigns, they’d have secured the title and put their full focus in the Champions League, but eight losses so far, leaves them as second favorites to win the title. Among the teams that have beaten them is Lens, who registered a 1-0 win in their September meeting – the first win over PSG in 13 attempts. Lens carry a good run to this game; they are unbeaten in their last 13 league matches and have a good chance of playing in the Conference League qualifiers. Seven of the 13 unbeaten league matches have however ended in draws, with Lens keeping just one clean sheet. They are coming from a 2-1 win over Nimes, a game that saw defender Issiaga Sylla sent off, and will be suspended for this game. Lens haven’t conceded more than a goal in their last five league matches and at home in Ligue 1, they have no loss in the last eight.
