PSG vs Lens Prediction & Betting Tips - Ligue 1

With only a point separating them, last year’s Ligue 1 top-two clubs PSG and Lens prepare for a big clash this weekend. This match at Parc des Princes on Saturday will see the hosts on 12th with two points while right behind them in 13th are the visitors with one. PSG are stuttering at the start of this campaign with a 0-0 draw against Lorient followed by a 1-1 stalemate against Toulouse. Coach Luis Enrique was piqued by the late penalty conceded to Toulouse that denied them a win. With only two points in the season, alarm bells may be ringing for the fans, who have last seen their 2013-14 season begin in this fashion. Yet, they won the title in that season and all will be forgiven if PSG repeat that trick this season. Another hurdle though is that their recent home form has been disastrous with only two wins out of seven Ligue 1 matches here – one draw and four losses.

Lens lost 3-1 here in April, but have been the best team behind PSG last season. All those positives seem to have evaporated over the summer with the departure of key players Seko Fofana and Loïs Openda. They started with a 3-2 loss at Brest on opening weekend before settling for a 1-1 draw against Rennes. That keeps the visitors winless in three competitive matches, having lost 2-1 to Nantes in the French Cup just before the league campaign started. It is on the road that Lens have spent most time in this season so far, with five matches away from home – three wins followed by two straight losses. There’s hope for the travelling fans if they look back at their recent away record as Lens have won five of their last seven away Ligue 1 matches.
