A top of the table showdown looms in the French Ligue 1 as champions PSG welcome Lens in a game that could have a big impact on this season’s title race. PSG are top of the league standings with 69 points, six ahead of second placed Lens. It has been a shaky period for PSG, the recent weeks and they come into this game with only the league title to play for. They are out of the UEFA Champions league as well as the French Cup, and coming into this game they’ve lost three of their last five matches. In their three losses, they’ve failed to score, and their most recent two losses were at home. The Parisians however recovered and are coming into this game, they won 2-0 at Nice. Three defeats in the last five matches at home, and only one clean sheet in nine will for sure be a major concern for the champions, and especially given they meet a side that has been scoring more consistently.

Lens have the best chance to not only enhance their quest for the Ligue 1 title, but also disrupt PSG’s chase. They are behind the champions by six points and will hope to slash that lead in this game. Lens will want to take advantage of PSG’s slump, given their hosts are on three losses in their last five home matches and haven't been on great scoring runs. While they target this, Lens will be parading a fine run in recent matches, which has them on four straight wins, and they are unbeaten in five games. They have scored two or more goals in three of their last four matches, all in Ligue 1. Three times in the last four league matches also, Lens have registered clan sheets. In their last outing, they beat Strasbourg 2-1, a late Kevin Gameiro goal denying Lens a fourth straight clean sheet. In the last three meetings with PSG, Lens have avoided defeat, winning in their latest clash after two earlier draws.
