Seventh placed Preston North End can move into the Championship play-off promotion places if beating QPR at home. Preston begin the game two points behind sixth placed Hull City, while their opponents are 22nd in the table. Preston could really do with a win here after being beaten in their last two Championship fixtures. Last weekend saw the Lilywhites concede two very late goals to lose 2-1 at home to Cardiff City. That disappointing result was followed by another defeat on Tuesday when being beaten 4-0 at Middlesbrough. Preston won their first four home league games of the season but since then the Invincibles have just one victory from the next five. Both teams have scored in all but one of their nine home Championship fixtures this season.

Queen's Park Rangers are in the relegation zone and a point from safety after Tuesday's games. The gap to safety narrowed on Tuesday when they beat Stoke City 4-2 at home, only their third league victory of the season. QPR led in that game but going into the 79th minute trailed 2-1. Three goals secured their first home league win since March of this year. The recent managerial change has produced some improvement with Rangers only losing once in their last four Championship fixtures. Away form this season has produced two league victories over Cardiff City and Middlesbrough. Since the win at Boro, they have gone six away league games without a win and only two points earned. With Preston struggling and QPR showing signs of improvement, we go for both teams to score in this game.
