Preston North End vs QPR Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Steve Ashfield | in Championship Predictions
At the time of writing this preview, Preston North End are in sixth place in the Championship. They host ninth placed QPR but will be out of the promotion play-off positions if Reading win at Birmingham on Friday night. Preston are seven points behind the second and final automatic promotion place. They had a poor October losing three league matches but have won four of their last five matches in the Championship. Last weekend saw them resume their league campaign with a big 4-1 win at Blackburn Rovers. Home form this season has seen Preston win only three of their 11 league fixtures and only score seven goals. Those 11 games have seen 18 goals scored but a third of those came in the last home game, a 4-2 loss to Millwall. Preston have won two of their last three home league matches.
QPR are three points behind their opponents but winning this game will see them go ahead of Preston. The Londoners made a bright start to the new season but have been dropping down the table of late. Their last four league games have all ended in defeat with five losses in the last six. Even worse for QPR is the fact that they’ve only scored one goal in the last six matches. Their first game since the season resumed was a 3-0 home loss to league leaders Burnley. On their travels, QPR have won four games but only scored 11 goals in as many games. They have lost three of the last four away league matches and their only goal scored was by the opposition when losing 3-1 at Luton Town. Go for a home win here.
