Gameweek 33 in the Championship will see Preston North End taking on Blackburn Rovers at Deepdale on Saturday afternoon. The hosts are ninth in the league standings, while the visitors are 16th. Preston were in mixed form over the last few months but seem to have found top gear again since the start of February. They come into this match fresh off a 2-1 win over Middlesbrough in midweek, which marked their third consecutive league win and fourth match unbeaten. During that time, they beat both Cardiff City (2-0) and Ipswich Town (3-2) while drawing with Millwall (1-1). That run of results has left The Lilywhites on 48 points after 32 matches, level with Coventry City, who hold the sixth and final playoff spot. In 16 home games this season, Preston have recorded nine wins, two draws and five losses. They also beat this opponent 2-1 in the reverse fixture back in November and are the favourites heading into this match. 

Meanwhile, after missing out on a playoff spot by the slenderest of margins last season, Blackburn have been unable to follow up on that performance this term. They have managed just 36 points in 31 games and are just seven points above Queens Park Rangers, who are the first side below the dotted line. Rovers suffered their 17th loss of the season in midweek when they were beaten 1-0 away to Birmingham City. That defeat was their seventh in ten games while they only won one match in that time. On the road, the visitors are currently on a six-match losing streak, failing to earn a single point in an away match since the start of December. They also conceded three or more goals in all but one of those games. Blackburn have failed to beat this opponent in their last three attempts and have been outscored 7-3 over that period.
