Switzerland have won all nine of their qualifiers so far but will finish second if they lose away to Portugal. The Swiss beat Portugal 2-0 in their opening game in this group and have kept on winning ever since. Portugal have too and have recorded eight straight wins but crucially have a goal difference of 26 compared to 18 for Switzerland. The Portuguese have won their last eight games in this group by an aggregate score of 30-2 with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring half of those goals. He had to come off the bench on Saturday to help get Portugal a 2-0 win away to Andorra. They have won all four of their home games in this group scoring 18 and conceding just twice and it's that defence that needs praising as it's not all about how many Ronaldo scores, though he has managed 11 in those four home matches. Switzerland are unbeaten in their last 14 away World Cup qualifiers winning the last six and scoring in all of them. This isn't going to be easy for Portugal but with Ronaldo in form and home advantage they can get a narrow win to qualify and then woe betide who gets drawn against Switzerland in the play-offs.
