Portugal finished top of their group with seven points from their three games. It was a big struggle in their opening fixture though as they had to twice come from behind to get a point against Mexico. They earned their first win of the tournament with a Ronaldo goal early in the first half clinching a 1-0 win. He was on target again in their final fixture as the Portuguese beat New Zealand 4-0 to win the group on goal difference. Chile still have a bit of work to do in the South American World Cup qualifying group if they want to be back here next year. So far in this tournament they've had to wait til the last ten minutes before breaking down Cameroon and eventually winning 2-0. That was followed by losing a lead against Germany and drawing 1-1 before again having to come from behind to get a draw with Australia. Not the most impressive of credentials and if Ronaldo and company are anywhere near in decent form then they can reach the final.
