The Portuguese Super Cup takes place tonight with holders Benfica taking on Porto at the Estádio Municipal de Aveiro. While Benfica won the 2019 edition, their eighth title, with a 5-0 trashing of Sporting Lisbon, Porto have won the Super Cup on 21 occasions, more times than any other Portuguese club. Both clubs come into the game in good form. Porto have won ten and lost none of their last 11 matches in all competitions; Benfica, meanwhile, are undefeated in their previous nine games, winning seven. Porto are the reigning champions of the Primeira Liga, but they are currently third in the table with 22 points from ten games. Benfica are one place and two points ahead of Porto.

With this game taking place at a neutral ground, it may be useful to take both teams' away form into account. Porto have won their last four away matches, three of which were in cup competitions. Each game both featured fewer than three goals and saw Porto keep a clean sheet. Benfica have not been as impressive on their travels. While Jorge Jesus's team are unbeaten in their last five away matches, they have also failed to win three of their last six fixtures on the road. Looking at their past seven away games, we can only rally up two clean sheets. This unconvincing away form does not bode well for Benfica ending their dodgy run in clashes with Porto.
