Only two points separate Poland and Faroe Islands at the bottom of the points table in Group E of the Euro qualifying competition ahead of this intriguing match. This will be played on Thursday at the National Stadium Warsaw with the hosts fourth on three points and the visitors bottom with one point. Poland have struggled in this campaign with only one win and two losses as they face a crucial match in this qualifying campaign. After a 3-1 loss to Czech Republic, Poland managed to turn things around in a tight 1-0 win over Albania. They even grabbed a friendly win over Germany, but that was a false dawn and they fell to a 3-2 loss to Moldova in the last match. Despite their struggles, a win here will push them to third position as Moldova are only two points ahead. Anything less than that and they could be looking at an early exit from the campaign.

Faroe Islands had an encouraging start to their qualifying campaign when they held Moldova to a 1-1 draw. Yet, they failed to develop from that and fell to consecutive losses – a 3-0 defeat to Czech Republic followed by a 3-1 loss at the hands of Albania. As they log at the bottom of the standings, the visitors will only be looking at making things difficult for their hosts. Although their only point in this campaign has come on the road, Faroe Islands have traditionally struggled away from home. Prior to that draw, they lost eight away matches in the Euro qualifiers in a row.
