Poland’s flickering hopes of qualifying for the Euro 2024 main tournament hinge on their result against Czech Republic in Group E. This European qualification campaign match will see Poland start on third with ten points and Czech on 11, with the game being played at the National Stadium Warsaw on Friday. This is Poland’s last game of the campaign and they will be unable to finish in the qualification places if they don’t win. Even if they win, they will have to depend on other results for securing their qualification, with the Czechs and Moldavians having a game in hand over the Poles. It has been a poor campaign for Poland with no consistency in results – they have won and lost three matches out of their first six before limping to a 1-1 draw in their last match against Moldova. One of those defeats was against the Czechs when they were beaten 3-1 away from home.

Czechia start this round two points behind leaders Albania and can qualify if they win here and Moldova do not win against Albania. It has been a memorable qualifying campaign for them so far, but with the danger of missing out still lurking, the visitors won’t be letting down guard. Much like Poland, their form has been stuttering, but thankfully they have been able to draw matches and not lose them. With three wins and two draws, other than their only loss to Albania, Czechia have stitched together a decent campaign to stay in the reckoning for a second straight European qualification. It will be their away form that will be under scrutiny though as the Czechs have lost four of their last seven away European qualifiers, winning only twice.
