Plymouth vs Crystal Palace Prediction & Betting Tips - Carabao Cup
by Kennedy Kechula in Carabao Cup Predictions
Crystal Palace will begin their League Cup campaign on Tuesday with an away trip to Plymouth Argyle. This second-round match will be the first meeting between the two teams in 13 years. Plymouth Argyle began the League Cup journey in the first round also at home and defeated Leyton Orient 2-0. This was however the last time they won. Steven Schumacher’s charges have drawn one and lost two of their last three games. They have suffered back-to-back losses with the latest being a 2-1 defeat away to Birmingham. The Pilgrims have however won five of their last six competitive fixtures at home and will be confident of success here. Last season, the Championship side were eliminated in the first round of this competition.
Crystal Palace also arrive for this match somehow inconsistent. Roy Hodgson’s men have not won in their last two matches, losing once. After winning back-to-back games, Palace were defeated 1-0 at home by Arsenal in the Premier League to begin this slump. They would draw 1-1 away to Brentford in another London derby over the weekend. The three-time League Cup semi-finalists have been eliminated three times in this round in the last four seasons. Palace have not been great in attack coming into this game. They have scored more than one goal a match just once in their last six games.
