Peru vs Scotland Prediction & Betting Tips - International Friendlies
by Steve Ashfield | in Football Predictions
It was a struggle to get there but Peru did eventually qualify for the World Cup finals. They finished fifth in the South American qualifying group which took them into a play-off with New Zealand that they won 2-0 on aggregate. They face France, Denmark and Australia in their group so there's the possibillity of getting into the knock-out stages in Russia. They are in decent form at present with a 12-game unbeaten run and haven't lost since 2016 but drawing their final two qualifiers was the reason they didn't automatically qualify for the finals. Peru have won six of their last seven home games, the other being a loss to Brazil and in friendlies have only one loss in the last 13 at home so this is going to be a tough game for Scotland.
The Scottish side again failed to qualify for the World Cup finals but only missed out on goal difference after a late surge in the group. They'd have qualified if hanging onto that home lead against England but it wasn't to be. They have only won one of their last four games and go into this match missing several players. Allan McGregror, Matt Ritchie, Barry Douglas and Ryan Fraser are all out and it could be an inexperienced side that plays this game so the tip is for a home win for Peru.
