Peru had their home form and an ineligible Bolivian to thank for their place in the play-offs. After coming away from New Zealand with a goalless draw, they will be confident of finishing the job off and qualifying for the 2018 World Cup. In the South American qualifying group they only lost two of their nine home matches, a 2-0 loss to Brazil and 4-3 to Chile. They are undefeated in their last nine games since that defeat by Brazil but have drawn the last three.  Home advantage again looks promising as their last five home games have produced four wins and a draw.New Zealand needed some kind of advantage to take to Peru but couldn't even get a shot on target in the first leg. Their last nine games have only seen the one victory at home to the Solomon Islands and away form isn't inspiring either with only a win in Fiji in their last nine away matches. Peru will have to be wary of any away goal the visitors may score and they have found the net in their last three away games, but the home side should have plenty of possession and can win this game on a -1 handicap.
