The two teams are separated by seven points on the standings with fourth-placed Palmeiras edging Cruzeiro in 11th. Palmeiras are enduring a dip in form as they have not won in their last two matches. They have amassed 24 points and have a one-point cushion in the CONMEBOL qualifying places. Raposa haven’t won in their last four outings but have at the same time proved hard to defeat. The 2022 Serie B champions have shared the spoils three times in this run. In their last outing, the Celeste battled to a 0-0 draw at home with league leaders Botafogo. They will hope for at the very least a similar result here to help strengthen their continental chances next season.
