Through to the Round of 16, Orlando City face off against Montreal Impact for a place in the quarter-finals of the MLS is Back tournament. A reminder that the winners of this tournament qualify for the CONCACAF Champions League in 2021. Orlando City will be the favourites for this match after topping their group (A) with victories over Inter Miami and New York City FC followed by a draw against Philadelphia Union. Montreal Impact made it this far as one of the best third-placed teams of the group stage. They lost their first two games to New England Revolution and Toronto FC respectively before picking up a crucial win over DC United. Orlando City won the most recent meeting between these teams but lost the previous four. Attacking star Ignacio Piatti scored in all four of those wins but Orlando no longer have to worry about the Argentine forward being a thorn in their side as he has moved back to his homeland. Montreal are now being coached by a legendary forward in the form of Thierry Henry but lack sharpshooters in their squad. Algerian playmaker Saphir Taider has stepped up to the scoring plate with three goals in the group stage. He will be the man for Orlando City to watch closely.

Orlando City have performed well in this tournament but they, like Montreal (9th), are coming off the back of a substandard MLS finish (11th). They lack star power with fading forces like Nani struggling to influence games. However, forward Chris Mueller is having a great tournament with three goals. Despite a comfortable group stage passage, we remain unconvinced by Orlando and, at the odds that are offered, suggest backing Montreal instead. The gifted Taider can help them keep up their good record against Orlando.
