Orlando City begin their best-of-three MLS Eastern Conference round one series against Nashville. The winners of this tie take on either Columbus Crew or Atlanta United in the Eastern Conference semi-finals. If this tie goes to a final match, it'll be Orlando who have the advantage of playing two games at home. That's because they finished in second place in the MLS Eastern Conference, six points behind FC Cincinnati. Nashville only finished seventh, 14 points adrift of Orlando. The home side ended the main season strongly with four successive wins, three of them to nil. Only one of their last 12 MLS games have ended in defeat. Home form for Orlando produced nine wins from 17 games with only three losses. They all took place in March and April and included a 2-0 loss to Nashville. Since then City have gone 12 home MLS fixtures without defeat, winning six of the last seven and scoring at least twice in eight of the last nine.

Nashville lost to Orlando 1-0 at home earlier this month. They still qualified for the play-offs but did not end the main season in good form. Only two of their last ten MLS games have ended in victory. The most recent was a 3-2 home win over New England Revolution. That's the only game in their last five in which they have managed to get on the scoresheet. Away form is a struggle too with just one of the last ten ended in a win for them.
