High scoring Lyon host St Polten in Group B of the Women's Champions League. The home side top the table with their Austrian visitors in third place, already three points behind them after the opening group fixture. Lyon were in top form last week as they won 9-0 away at outclassed Slavia Prague. They continued their impressive scoring form with a 4-1 home victory over Dijon after going behind early on. Les Fenottes lead the French league by six points from Paris FC. All eight of their domestic league matches have been won this season with 35 goals scored and only three conceded. Lyon have won the Women's Champions League more times than any other club. They will want to do better than last season though when only finishing second in their group and then losing to Chelsea on a penalty shoot out in the quarter finals. Home form this season has seen Les Lyonnaises win all four of their games by an aggregate score of 19-1.
St Polten have it all to do to finish in the top two and qualify for the last eight. They had to beat Valur to reach the group stages, winning on a 4-1 aggregate. They won the away first leg 4-0 but lost the home fixture 1-0. Another loss was suffered in their opening game in this group when being beaten 2-1 at home by Brann. They bounced back well with a 7-0 away win at Grazer AK and are two points clear at the top of the Austrian Frauenliga. Four of their last six Women's Champions League games have ended in defeat. That included four heavy losses to Roma and Wolfsburg last season with 21 goals conceded. Another bad defeat looms here. We recommend a bet on a Lyon victory with over 4.5 goals being scored.
