This is an important game for Nottingham Forest as they try to win promotion to the Premier League. They begin the weekend in fifth place in the Championship and host QPR who are down in 16th. Forest are only four points behind the second automatic promotion spot but it's a tight league as usual. They are just six points clear of tenth placed Millwall and have just one win in their last four league matches. That was a 2-0 home win over second placed Leeds, so that shows how good this Forest side can be. Since then though, they have lost at home to Charlton and drawn at league leaders West Bromwich Albion. Home form had seen them win four out of five league fixtures before that loss to Charlton. A return to their form at the start of 2020 should be enough to earn three valuable points from this game.
QPR are only six places above the bottom three but have an 11-point advantage, so should be safe. Promotion isn't looking at all likely with the same number of points to make up on the final play-off spot. They have won 12 league games this season but lost 15. QPR don't have too many problems scoring with 51 achieved so far in the league. The problem is in their defending with 58 conceded and only 23rd placed Luton Town have let in more. Away form leaves a lot to be desired with nine losses including four of the last five with no goals in the last two. Their last away game was a goalless draw at Swansea who are also struggling for results. Go for a home win in this match.
