Nottingham Forest vs Manchester United Prediction & Betting Tips - Carabao Cup
by Daniel Ngulu in Carabao Cup Predictions
Manchester United will hope to bounce back from the loss to Arsenal in a pulsating contest at the Emirates. They will play their third straight away game against Nottingham Forest in the first leg semi final of the League Cup. Hosts Nottingham Forest go into this game with an improved run, and especially at home, which will give them confidence against the side that beat them 3-0 in the league earlier. Forest defeated another top flight side, Wolverhampton Wanderers on post match penalties to advance to this stage. This will be their third Premier League opponent in the cup, having also eliminated Tottenham Hotspur in the earlier stages. Forest haven’t tasted defeat in their last three matches though only one has ended in an outright win, while they have just a clean sheet in the last four matches. Both teams have scored in three of Forest’s last four matches. Playing at home, Forest are unbeaten in eight matches but both teams have scored in four of the eight games.
Manchester United had a stoppage time heartbreak in their last game as they suffered a 3-2 loss away to Arsenal in the league. As they come here for a third straight away match, they will hope to return to winning ways having drawn with Crystal Palace earlier. Their last two matches in London have seen them drop points and cede ground in their league title ambitions. United will now target a first leg advantage and a repeat of their performance against Arsenal on Sunday should be good enough to break down Nottingham Forest. Prior to their loss at the Emirates, Manchester United have registered 10 unbeaten matches. They have scored in each of the last 17 matches across all competitions and just like Nottingham Forest, this will not be the first time United face Premier League competition; they eliminated Aston Villa earlier. The 3-0 win over Charlton in the last round booked them this slot.
