Nottingham Forest vs Burnley Prediction & Betting Tips - Carabao Cup
by Kennedy Kechula | in Carabao Cup Predictions
Nottingham Forest will on Wednesday host Burnley in an all-Premier League tie in Round 2 of the League Cup. Coming into this game, Forest have struggled in their recent fixtures and will target a win here to jumpstart their season. Steve Cooper’s charges have won only one of their last seven games. Five of those fixtures have ended in defeat including their last match. Forest saw a two-goal lead wiped away at Manchester United as they lost 3-2 in the league. It was their second loss of the season. The Reds’ only win, a 2-1 success over Sheffield United, came at home. This should give them confidence going into this match though a raft of changes in their lineup are expected. Taiwo Awoniyi has been a key man for Forest, scoring in all games so far. Cooper will definitely have to debate whether having him in this game is a good idea.
Burnley are yet to win a match this new season. They have lost both their opening Premier League fixtures, conceding three goals in each. Vincent Kompany’s charges lost 3-0 to Manchester City before scoring their first goal in a 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa. As they drew 1-1 in their final match of pre-season, the Clarets are now without a win in three games. Switching their attention to another competition might be what Burnley need to jumpstart their campaign. A horde of changes to the squad that started their last match could be made here. But as Burnley have struggled to score, Kompany could be tempted to have his preferred group of attackers play. Midfielder Zaroury Anass will be one of the absent players in this game. He is currently serving a three-game suspension after his opening-day red card.
