Nottingham Forest vs Bristol City Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship

Nottingham Forest boosted their play-off hopes with a 3-1 home win over Huddersfield Town. They are fourth in the Championship and look for three more points at home to 12th placed Bristol City. Forest are seven points adrift of the second and final automatic promotion spot. That's currently occupied by out-of-form West Bromwich Albion, so a good run-in may yet see Forest finish in the top two.  A promotion play-off place is more likely though and after the weekend games, Forest are seven points clear of seventh with seven games left. They needed that win over Huddersfield as the previous three league games had only produced two points. That included conceding a 92nd minute equalizer at Sheffield Wednesday. No such mishaps against Huddersfield (who could be relegated for a second successive season) with Lewis Grabban scoring twice. That was their ninth home league win of the season but it also ended a run of three without a win at the City Ground without scoring a goal.

Bristol City have spent most of the season in or aroun the play-off positions. They are struggling for form at present though and are down to 12th and five points behind the final play-off position. The weekend saw them lose 2-1 at home to Sheffield Wednesday, their second league defeat in a row. City have gone seven games in the Championship without a win, their last league victory being in February. Away form has seen Bristol City lose three of their last four played in the league. They have won eight on the road this season but most of those wins came early in the season. A form guide for the last ten league games has them one from bottom with just eight points earned. Forest can inflict more misery on City with a home win.
