19th placed Nottingham Forest continue their bid to escape the Premier League relegation zone. They face a difficult task when hosting Brighton and Hove Albion who are eighth place. Forest ended the latest set of games a point from safety but virtually two because of their appalling goal difference. That gap could widen on Tuesday as Leeds United host Leicester City, a game Forest wouldn't like to see end in a draw. The weekend saw Forest lose 3-2 at Liverpool, their 12th away loss in 16 league games this season. Home form is better with five wins but they come into this match having gone five without a win. It's been a tough fixture list though with both Manchester clubs and Newcastle United being among the opponents. Of their last three at home, they face not just Brighton but also Arsenal plus a must-win game against fellow relegation strugglers Southampton.

Brighton and Hove Albion now know that if they want to qualify for a first ever European campaign, it'll have to be via their league position. Sunday's FA Cup semi-final produced heartbreak as they lost to Manchester United on penalties. It's almost certain now that seventh place in the Premier League will qualify a side for Europe next season. Brighton are currently a point behind that position with two games in hand on Liverpool. Brighton put up a good performance against United at Wembley and a repeat of that should be enough to earn three valuable points at the City Ground. The Seagulls have won seven away league games this season, currently the fourth best record in the division. Only one of their last nine away Premier League games has been lost and that was thanks to some very dodgy VAR decisions at Tottenham. Go for Brighton to bounce back with a win at Forest.
