Newly promoted Norwich and Watford are set to go head to head in the Premier League in search of three points as the competition enters Match Day 5. Norwich, who topped the Championship last season plays host here, seeking to rise from the bottom of the table after four straight losses. Watford are 15th with three points and will be hoping to add on. Norwich are coming from a big fight but 1-0 loss to Arsenal, a game in which they showed good flashes. Their only win so far this season was in the League Cup and for their fight to stay in the league, this early season run isn’t good enough, and an area to improve on is in attack. They’ve failed to score in three of their last five matches. While they seek better fortunes in attack, defending should also improve, with the team having conceded two or more goals in three of the last five. Norwich also have no win in seven straight Premier League matches at home, and go to this game having lost each of the last four matches against Watford.

Watford’s only win in the league this season came on the opening day as they shocked Aston Villa 3-2 at home. They haven’t added any points after that win though they have a win in between – in the League Cup, where they claimed a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace. They’ve failed to score in three straight league matches and will not be very pleased at the manner of their 2-0 loss to Wolves in the last game. A game they seemed destined for at least a point changed completely with 16 minutes to go after Francisco Carvalho’s own goal. Their push for an equalizer left the back line exposed and Hwang Hee-Chan slammed in a second with seven minutes to go. Watford have conceded two goals in three of their last five matches though each of their last four matches has ended in under 2.5 goals. Three defeats in the last four games isn’t a very good ratio for a team looking to avoid dropping right back to the Championship and it is worse looking at their away record in the Premier League. The visitors have no win in 10 straight away Premier League matches.
