Norwich City have a new manager and after the international break they’ll hope the arrival of Dean Smith marks the start of a good run. They will be at home to face Southampton and hope to rise from the bottom of the standings, having managed just five points. Southampton on the other hand have been on the rise, and go to this game placed 13th with 14 points. Norwich finally managed their first win in their last match before the international break, beating Brentford 2-1 and scoring more than a goal for the first time in the league this season. They however still have the worst defence (26 conceded) and poorest attack (five scored). They’ve also lost the most games (8) at this point of the season. Heading into this game, they’ve failed to score in three of the last five matches but have scored in both their last two ahead of this. At home, in the Premier League, Norwich have no win in their last 10 matches.

Southampton are coming from back to back wins and will hope the form they had picked ahead of the international break continues. They have no loss within 90 minutes in their last five matches, and in three of the five games they’ve kept clean sheets. In each of their last six matches, Southampton have managed to score and compared to their start to the season, they’ve really improved. However, in the six matches, they have managed more than a goal in just one – the 2-2 draw with Burnley. Four of their last five matches have produced under 2.5 goals. It has been tougher away from home, the team conceding two or more goals in three of the last five in the league but this was against much stronger teams. Their win over Watford was the first away victory in 10 league matches.
