Northern Ireland are five points behind leaders Germany but sit in second place and face a battle to reach the play-offs. They are ahead of Azerbaijan on goal difference and a win over Norway will certainly boost their qualification hopes. Azerbaijan take on Germany so a win for the Irish will open up a three point gap setting them up for their clash with them in June. So far in this group, Northern Ireland have drawn away in the Czech Republic, comfortably beat San Marino 4-0 at home, predictably lost in Germany and then hammered Azerbaijan 4-0. Home form is a major asset for the Irish with six wins in the last eight. Top sides such as Germany and Croatia have won in Northern Ireland but Norway don't fit into that category. The Norwegians are down in fifth in the group with only San Marino below them. Three points from four games and four away from the play-offs. A win here though would put them back into the play-off reckoning. They have had a poor campaign so far with a 3-0 home loss to Germany followed by a 1-0 defeat in Azerbaijan. Norway's only win so far was a 4-1 home win over San Marino but even that was 1-1 with 13 minutes to go. They suffered another away defeat when going down 2-1 in the Czech Republic and a third defeat looks on the cards here. Go for a home victory.
