Both of these sides played in the European Nations League at the weekend and both are bottom of their groups after defeats. Northern Ireland lost 2-1 at home to Bosnia-Herzegovina and could do with a confidence boosting win over Israel before they play two more qualifiers in October away to Austria and then the return match with Bosnia-Herzegovina. Northern Ireland missed out on the World Cup in the summer after a controversial loss to Switzerland in the play-offs. Their form has been poor this year with only one win in their last eight games, that being a 2-1 home win over South Korea. The loss on Saturday was their third in the last four home games

Israel also got off to a losing start in their League C European Nations League match losing 1-0 away to Albania. They play both their home games next month on the 11th against Scotland and Albania three days later, so a good performance here would be a bonus. Seven of their last nine games have ended in defeat with the only victory being a 1-0 win in Liechtenstein and the last 11 away matches have seen them lose on eight occasions. The tip here is with both teams in poor form to go for under 2.5 goals to be scored.
