North Macedonia will be at home on Saturday against Italy in their next 2024 Euro qualifying match. Both teams are tied on three points in Group C with Italy in third place edging Macedonia in fourth by goal difference. North Macedonia have played a game more than Italy. They have played three matches in the group and have lost twice with both defeats coming in their last two outings. After defeating Malta 2-1 at home in round one, Blagoja Milevski’s charges have lost to Ukraine and England. They have conceded 10 goals in those two matches with seven coming last time out away to England. The Lions however defeated Italy 1-0 last year in World Cup qualifying and will therefore fancy their chances of bouncing back.

Italy have played two matches in Group C, the least amount of games in the group. The defending European champions had the worst possible start as they lost 2-1 at home against England. They would however respond with a 2-0 away victory against Malta in their next match. The Azzurri have struggled with their form recently and have lost three times in their last five outings. They however did win a five-goal thriller against the Netherlands in their last outing. The win allowed Italy to finish third in last season’s Nations League campaign. This will be beneficial for Luciano Spalletti’s men if they are unable to finish among the top two in their group. Italy are guaranteed a playoff spot in these qualifiers thanks to their Nations League success.
