Niger and Ghana came from groups with three teams and after winning their second games, they booked spots in the African Nations Championships quarter finals. They are set to face off for a place in the semis and both will be looking to build on the wins ahead of this game. Niger were 1-0 winners over Cameroon in Group E, and they topped with four points, having earlier drawn 0-0 with Congo. They haven’t conceded a goal in this competition but only scored one in two matches. Their attacking department hasn’t been great, with the team failing to score in three of their last four matches, while only managing more than a goal once in the last five games. They have one loss in their last five matches.

Ghana also managed one win at the group stage, but the award of a win over absent Morocco ensured they finished with six points in Group C. In the group, they had earlier lost to 2-1 Madagascar but recovered to beat Sudan 3-1in a game that they had to finish with 10 men after Daniel Afriyie was sent off towards the end, having scored in the same game. The Hearts of Oak attacker will miss this game but Ghana will want to look at their scoring ability as their edge going into this game. They’ve scored in both their matches in this group, and also in four of their last six CHAN matches.
