Nice and Versailles meet in the French Cup semifinal that will take place at the Allianz Riviera. There was doubt as to where the match will be played but the Allianz Riviera emerged as the most feasible to host the match. This of course favours Nice as they play some of their home matches at this stadium. Nice have lost two of their last five matches but won the seven matches preceding this run. They did however win their last match when they beat Angers 1-0 in the French Ligue 1. The win took them to second place on the table just a point ahead of Marseille but they have played an extra match. They are having a dream run in the French Cup having beaten Grench giants Marseille and PSG in the two previous rounds. Both these match were won on penalties.
Versailles will be disappointed that they could not stage the semifinal on their home ground due to certain cost factors. This will not deter them in their quest for a first ever French Cup final. They beat fellow Fourth tier club Bergerac in the last round on penalties but will not be fazed about facing a top flight team. In the round of 16 they shocked Ligue 1 team Toulouse when they won 1-0 away from home. They are currently top of their league but had to settle for a 1-1 draw in their last league match against Chartres. Versailles are unbeaten in their last 12 matches across all competitions.
