Newcastle United were languishing at the bottom of the English Premier League a few weeks ago but three straight wins have taken them up to 13th in the table. They are four points clear of the relegation zone and have a decent upcoming fixture list. A few more wins would secure them a place in mid-table come the end of the year. Then their problems will begin again as the transfer window opens and the call for more recruits will begin. United have had recent wins over Watford, Bournemouth and Burnley and a run of two successive home wins is certainly better than the five losses that preceded them. Newcastle have a good record against West Ham with three wins in a row.

Their opponents continue to be inconsistent and come into this game fresh from a 4-0 beating at home by Manchester City. They have only won one of their last seven league games and are missing Andriy Yarmolenko who's out with a long-term injury. They have no wins in their last three away league games, though two have ended in draws. Only once in their last 15 away matches in the Premier League have the Hammers managed to keep a clean sheet. With Newcastle having all the momentum at present, this can be another home victory for them.
