Newcastle United Jets vs Melbourne Victory Prediction & Betting Tips - A-League

Newcastle Jets are eighth in the A-League and host Melbourne Victory who are bottom of the table. The Jets are only two points behind the final play-off position and four ahead of their opponents but who have played a game less. Newcastle have only won one of their last six league games, a 4-0 home victory over Brisbane Roar on January 27. That game took them 52 minutes to break the deadlock but then the floodgates opened. Their last fixture saw them draw 2-2 at Perth Glory (seventh in the table) with Newcastle having to come from behind twice to return home with a point. Home form has seen them win three out of their seven home league games with the same number being lost. Four points have been earned from the last two games, including a draw with second placed WS Wanderers. 

Melbourne Victory had gone six league fixtures without a win before beating Wellington Phoenix last weekend. They went a goal down in the 13th minute of that game but fought back well to get their first home win since early November. That previous win just happened to be a 4-0 win over Newcastle Jets. Can they build on the win over Wellington is the big question for this match. if they won their game in hand, Melbourne would only be three points behind the play-off positions. Away form is not good though with two wins from eight league games this season. Four of the last six have ended in defeat for them so this might be a difficult task for them this weekend. A double chance bet on Newcastle is the recommended wager.
