Newcastle vs Fulham Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League

Newcastle United need to bounce back from the 5-2 loss at Leeds United on Wednesday evening. That saw them drop to 14th in the Premier League and they now host Fulham who are three places below them. Manager Steve Bruce called some of United's defending as that worthy of schoolboys. It was disappointing considering they had won their previous two league fixtures. They may be 14th but that's eight points above the relegation zone and only three points adrift of eighth placed Manchester City. They could do with some points from this game though as their next three league games are against Manchester City, Liverpool and Leicester CIty.  United have been inconsistent at home this season. They have won three but also lost three with no draws. The losses have been against Brighton (right at the start of the season) and then Manchester United and Chelsea. Up against a struggling side such as Fulham, they will be confident of earning three points from this game as long as those defensive errors can be cut out. Two of their last three at home have been won, with victories over Everton and West Brom. Both were by a 2-1 scoreline and clean sheets at home for Newcastle aren’t that common. In fact, their last ten home games in the Premier League have seen them concede with both teams scoring in all bar two of them. Over 2.5 goals is a common occurrence too, that’s come up in eight of the last nine home league fixtures.

Fulham were held to a 0-0 home draw on Wednesday against Brighton. That was the kind of game they really need to win and was their second successive home draw. They come into this game with no wins in their last three fixtures. Now they travel to Newcastle and they need to improve their away record. Only four away league points have been earned this season. Their one victory was a surprise win at Leicester City, though the Foxes have been struggling at home. Fulham’s only other away point was in a draw at bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United. That makes them the only team this season to play United and not beat them. Fulham have scored six away league goals this season, though five came in the 4-3 loss at Leeds and 2-1 win at Leicester. Four of the last five away Premier League fixtures have had under 2.5 goals scored with both teams scoring in only two of them. This isn't an easy game to predict considering the way both teams played in midweek. Newcastle are much better at home at present, so go for them to get an important victory.
