It's been another frustrating season for Newcastle United and all their fans want for Christmas is a new owner. Three points at home to Fulham might have to be the substitute present though and they have a good chance of getting that. Newcastle are 14th in the table but five points behind the next highest team. They are four points above the bottom three though and that's a gap they'd love to extend especially as Boxing Day sees them travel to Anfield. They won at Huddersfield Town last weekend to end a run of three games without a league win but two were played against in-form West Ham and Wolves. At home, United have had a terrible time losing seven out of nine played but five have come against sides currently in the top nine.

Fulham will be an easier standard of opposition for United as they are bottom of the table and have just one point from their last four league matches. Nine away league games have produced just one point and with only six goals scored compared to 24 conceded. Fulham's major problem is their defence and Claudio Ranieri has to sign some new defenders in January if they are to have any chance of avoiding an immediate return to the Championship. 42 goals have been conceded in their 17 league games and in only three of those matches have they avoided conceding at least twice. The tip here is for Newcastle to get the win.
