Newcastle - Arsenal: Form Analysis
Newcastle secured a resounding victory over Manchester United in midweek in the League Cup. Eddie Howe’s men were much changed at Old Trafford and still won 3-0. The result saw them get back to winning ways after two matches without a victory. Newcastle have amassed 17 points after 10 rounds of play and sit five points outside of the top five. They have won five of their fixtures with four of those coming with them as the home side. The Magpies drew 2-2 away to Wolves last time out in the league.
Arsenal were also in League Cup action on Wednesday. The Gunners however had an unfortunate outing as they succumbed to a 3-1 defeat away to West Ham. The loss was only their second this season across all competitions and Mikel Arteta’s men will be keen for an immediate response. Arsenal are one of two teams yet to lose a Premier League match this season. They sit two points off the pace after

Newcastle & Arsenal Squad Analysis
Newcastle have a long injury list which was added to in midweek after Matt Target limped off injured against Manchester United. The hosts have had to do without Alexander Isak, Jacob Murphy, Sven Botman, Elliot Anderson, Javier Manquillo, and Harvey Barnes due to injury. Summer signing Sandro Tonali is also unavailable as he is suspended after breaching betting rules. Isak’s potential absence is a big blow for Newcastle as he has been in rich form upfront. Callum Wilson, scorer of seven league goals so far, should lead the line again here.
Arsenal have also had to deal with the absence of key players due to injury. Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey are out of this match while Jurrien Timber remains a long-term absentee. Academy graduate Emile Smith Rowe is the latest addition to the Gunners’ treatment room. The Englishman is expected to be out for a lengthy spell due to a knee issue. In the absence of Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah has led the visitors’ attack. The forward scored his first Premier League hat-trick last weekend in the 5-0 win over Sheffield and has five league goals thus far.
