The Netherlands are ranked eighth in the world and along with Canada are fancied to finish in the top two of Group E and reach the knock-out stages. This is only the second time that they have reached the final stages of the Women's World Cup having reached the last 16 in 2015. However, two years later they won the European Championships beating Denmark in the final and winning all six of their matches. They had a poor Algarve Cup tournament this year losing to both Spain and Poland  with their only win being over China in a penalty shoot-out. Since then they have won three games in a row scoring 12 goals without reply.

New Zealand are the 19th ranked team in the world and this is the fourth time in a row they have reached the Women's World Cup finals. They have been knocked out in their past three finals at the group stages without winning a game. Their qualifying rounds weren't the toughest out there with five games won scoring 43 goals without reply. This year has seen them win three games and lose four. One of those victories was against England in a friendly but they followed that up with a 1-0 loss to Wales who are ranked 33rd in the world. The tip for this game is a win for the Netherlands.
