MLS action will continue this weekend when the New England Revolution welcomes Sporting Kansas City to the Gillette Stadium on Sunday for a match that could impact both ends of the table, depending on the outcome. The hosts are currently leading the MLS Eastern Conference standings, with 17 points after eight matches, level with Cincinnati on points but with a better goal difference. The Revolution played out a 1-1 draw in their last match against Columbus Crew last weekend, which extended their unbeaten run to five matches. The hosts have gotten off to a good start this season with a record of five wins, two draws, and one loss, and have looked strong at home, where they are unbeaten in their first four matches with three wins and a draw. Coming up against a struggling side, New England will be fairly confident they can come away with the points in this one. 

Meanwhile, Sporting KC have had a very poor start to the season and comes into this match following a 3-0 loss against the SJ Earthquakes last weekend. The visitors are currently at the bottom of the Western Conference standings, having only taken three points from the first 24 on offer this season. Sporting KC are yet to win a match this season, recording three draws and five losses to date, conceding eleven goals while only scoring two in response. This will be Sporting KC’s fifth away match of the season, but they have only managed to find the net once and have failed to score in their last two matches on the road. Taking on the current league leaders on the road is always a tall order, and it’s likely going to be very difficult for the visitors to get anything from this match.
