Nations FC will play host to Accra Lions as the two sides seek to keep their Ghanaian Premier League title ambitions alive. Second-placed Nations have lost their footing a bit in recent times and come here trailing leaders Samartex by seven points. Accra Lions are third, eight points behind the leaders, with five matches to play. Nations’ four match winning run between March and April is now a distant memory. They come here winless in the last five matches and failed to score in four of them. In their most recent outing, Nations fell 1-0 at Karela United. That was their third defeat in the last five matches. Returning to play at home will be welcome at this point. Nations haven’t lost a home game in the last 16 outings. They won 10 of those 16 home matches, though in their last two, they could only manage draws. With just three wins in the last 22 away matches, Accra Lions will be seeking to rise from this poor run on the road. Facing a side that has done well at home calls for a lot of improvement.
