Nashville finished second in Group G, which also included Toluca and Colorado Rapids. In the knockout stages, Nashville beat Eastern Conference league leaders Cincinnati and America on penalties before overpowering Minnesota 5-0 in the quarter-final. While the hosts did lose the last encounter against this opponent, they are unbeaten in their last two at this venue, winning one and drawing the other. They are also 20 points ahead of Inter Miami in the league standings. They did win the US Open Cup encounter against this opponent back in May and are the 2/1 favourites to do likewise in this one.
