Napoli vs Genoa Prediction & Betting Tips - Serie A

Napoli and Genoa will both be out to bounce back when they meet in the Serie A on Saturday. The two sides aren’t having the best of seasons, Napoli in ninth and Genoa 12th. Napoli will welcome a return to playing at home after their 1-0 away loss to AC Milan. That defeat, their eighth of the season, left the champions 25 points behind the league leaders, Inter Milan. Their title defence is already in tatters and Napoli will hope for some reprieve here. The one positive ahead of this game will be the return of star forward Victor Osimhen, who was away at AFCON 2023 with Nigeria. This return could prove timely as Napoli have failed to score in three of their last four matches. Their loss to Milan ended a three-game unbeaten run in Serie A and also the third time in five that they failed to score in the league. Home form will be key for Napoli in this game and it should give them confidence, having managed three wins in a four-game unbeaten run at home. The champions have done well in recent matches against Genoa, winning four of the last six. In the first leg meeting though, they had to come from 2-0 down to force a 2-2 draw.

Genoa had an outing to forget as they lost 4-1 at home to Atalanta. Ruslan Malinovskyi’s equalizer early in the second half gave Genoa some hope but they would soon capitulate, conceding four. That marked a second straight winless outing for I Rossoblu, who have just three wins in the last 13 matches. It was however their first defeat in nine matches and they will want to return to normalcy. Genoa haven't really done well in this fixture. Against Napoli in the last 21 matches, they managed just one win. They were close to another win over the champions in September but blew a 2-0 lead to see the game end 2-2. With that result, Genoa haven't beaten Napoli in their last three meetings, losing twice. Four losses in their last six meetings will place Genoa as underdogs here but a four-game unbeaten run away from home offers some hope. Genoa have won two and drawn as many in their last four away matches, all in Serie A. Both teams scored in three of those four away matches.
