Napoli hope to rise back to the top of the Serie A standings, and to get there, they will need to beat Fiorentina in their next game and hope for Milan to drop points. Coming into this game, they defeated Atalanta 3-1; the fourth of their last five matches to produce over 2.5 goals. They’ve failed to score in just one of the last five games and at home, their only loss in the last five home matches was against the league leaders, Milan. Napoli have collected 10 points in the last five home matches.

This will be the third meeting between these two sides this season. In the last meeting, a Coppa Italia clash in January, Fiorentina put up a superb show to thump Napoli 5-2 in an ill-tempered game that saw three red cards flashed. That was Fiorentina’s first win in four matches against Napoli and they are looking to add to it, as well as a calmer game. To get that, Fiorentina will hope to improve in attack, having failed to score more than a goal in their last seven matches. In their away matches, Fiorentina haven’t done so well defensively; in seven of their last eight league matches on the road, both teams have managed to score. They have conceded two or more in four of their last eight away matches and have no clean sheet in the last 11 away league matches.
