Napoli are third in the table, three points behind league leaders Inter. They finished second again last season and have already renewed rivalry with champions Juventus. They trailed 3-0 to them away from home, got it back to 3-3 but then conceded a 92nd minute goal and even more painful, it was an own goal. That is their only loss of the league season with the other three games all ending in victory, along with that win over Liverpool in the Champions League. Three of their league matches have seen them scoring at least three goals and overall, they have 13 for the season, more than any other team. Only one of their four league games this season has been played at home, a 2-0 win over Sampdoria.

Cagliari begin this game in ninth place, three points behind their opponents. They made a poor start to the new season losing both of their opening two league fixtures. Both were at home as they lost to newly-promoted Brescia and top-of-the-table Inter. Since then they have won both their league matches with victories at Parma and at home to Genoa. The win at Parma was only their second away league win in 18 games. The other was against Chievo who were relegated last season. Go for Napoli to get the win and be ahead at both half and full time.
