A real contender for match of the weekend takes place at Stadio San Paolo this weekend when Napoli host AC Milan in Serie A. The clubs are right next to each other in the table with Napoli sixth on 51 points and AC Milan seventh on 49. With Sassuolo a distant six points further back in eighth, it seems unlikely that either club will be kicked out of the top seven before the season's end. Napoli have already qualified for next season's Europa League after winning the Italian Cup. They are in impressive form with four wins from five matches since the resumption of Serie A. Gennaro Gattuso has the Partenopei playing brilliant football with their home form being a noteworthy feature of their recovery from the final days of Carlo Ancelotti's reign. Napoli are unbeaten in six games at home in all competitions, a run that includes games against Inter, Juventus, and Roma. They have won their last two home matches against Milan; however, the visitors come to town buoyed by a run of big wins over the heaviest hitters in Serie A.

Milan recently announced the coup managerial signing of Ralf Rangnick for next season. While he's an impressive man to have at hand for their rebuilding project, the timing of the announcement is strange as things are going so well under Stefano Pioli. Milan are unbeaten in their last six matches in all competitions, winning four, including the last two, which were against Lazio and Juventus. Not only did they beat the top two in consecutive matches, they scored seven goals across those two games. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has played a starring role in these victories but Ante Rebic deserves credit for an exceptional run of form, scoring 11 goals in his last 15 appearances.
