Nice will be out to maintain their unbeaten Ligue 1 status when they travel to play Nantes on Saturday. The two teams are having contrasting seasons with Nice second in the standings and Nantes 11th after 13 games. Nantes haven’t won any of their last four matches and have been defeated three times. Their struggles have left them sitting just four points above the relegation zone. It is therefore imperative that Pierre Aristuoy’s men get something out of this match to avoid being sucked into a relegation battle. Les Canaris ended a three-game skid last time out as they battled to draw 0-0 with Le Havre. Goals have dried up for Nantes in recent weeks and they have failed to score in three of their last four games.

Nice are the only team remaining yet to have tasted defeat in the French topflight. They have won eight of their 13 games and are a point off the pace after accumulating 29 points. With leaders PSG not playing until Sunday, Francesco Farioli’s men can move into top place with a win here. Nice got back to winning ways last time out thanks to a 1-0 victory over Toulouse at home. The Eaglets had seen a four-match winning run come to an end with a 0-0 draw with Montpellier before the Toulouse match. Defence has been key to Nice’s success and this has allowed them to concede a league-leading low four goals. Nice, who haven’t lost to Nantes in six league meetings, haven't conceded in their last eight games.
