Nantes vs Monaco Prediction & Betting Tips - Ligue 1

Nantes lost away at Metz last weekend but remain second in Ligue 1. They can close the gap on leaders PSG to two points if able to beat 14th placed Monaco at home. Nantes are currently five points behind PSG but that's mainly down to their inconsistent away record. On their travels, they have won two and lost three, that's compared to an excellent home record. Nantes have played five home league games and won four with the other being drawn. They are yet to concede a home league goal this season. Only one of their last ten home league games have been lost but goals have been a rarity. The last four have all been won 1-0 with the other being a goalless draw.

Monaco are only a couple of points above the relegation zone. Whereas Nantes have been involved in a lot of low-scoring home games, Monaco's matches have been full of goals. Only PSG have scored more than them in Ligue 1 this season with 18 in 10 games. The problem is Monaco have conceded 21 which is four more than any other side in the league. They have won three of their last four league games, each match having over 3.5 goals scored. However, all those wins came on home territory. Away form is nowhere near as impressive. In fact, only Strasbourg have a worst away record than Monaco. Four away games have produced just two points with eight goals conceded and only three scored. Since December 2018, Monaco have played 15 away league games and won just once, a 1-0 win at Lille in March. Go for a home win here and it's one that is likely to be in a low-scoring match.
